Day 16 Friday 25April

Very quiet day today. Lazy start with breakfast and then a walk around the harbour and town. Ullapool is such a pretty place.

Sign at the harbour! Thought it was funny!

The car/passenger ferry coming in. Stopped and watched them unload and then load for the trip back to Stornoway on the Outer Hebrides.

Walked up to Ullapool Hill, about 5km round trip.

A cairn halfway up. Went and put a stone on top!

Start up quite a steep hill. Beautiful views of the town and Loch Broom Got to about 2/3rds of the way up and Gary said he didn’t want to go any further. He waited at the sun dial whilst I went to the top.

That little speck up the top is me!

The cairn at the very top!

From the top - shows Ullapool, the harbour and Loch Broom

Beautiful views of the area, may have doubled up on some of the photos!

Fish and chips for dinner and decided to try the haggis pie. Surprisingly tasty but very rich! Couldn’t come to Scotland and not eat the national dish! Next one to try is the Cullen Skink!

  1. Good to have a lazy day to recuperate from the busy times you've had so far. Haggis - minced sheep liver, lungs and heart....sounds delicious!! Not sure about the Cullen Skink...sounds like a small lizard sandwich?? I'm sure that you're now basically Scottish you'll enjoy it all??
