Day 25 Sunday May 4

Left Morecombe this morning on our way to Felinheli in Wales. Stopped at Pleasure Beach at Blackpool on the way, what a place! Amusement parlours, casinos, piers, roller coasters, Ferris wheels - everything you could think of! Kind of glad we weren’t staying here! Very vibrant and the kids would love it but sure you would need to bring thousands of pounds to enjoy it! It’s a long weekend here this weekend so lots of people about!

Roller coaster at Pleasure Beach, view from the beach

Don’t think the camels in Broome are in any danger of being taken over by these asses!

South Pier entertainment

South Pier - note the fish and chip shop on the right hand side!

The Tower - not sure what it’s for but looks impressive!

More amusements at Pleasure Beach

The roller coaster - it was so high! Not for me!

The Tower again - still don’t know what it’s for!

More of the roller coaster- still doesn’t appeal!

Cinderella’s coach, poor horse!

North pier amusements!

Onto Liverpool. Decided to only visit Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields! There was a festival going on - the Smithdown Festival in Penny Lane. What a hoot! All of these kids dressed up in the 60’s type gear and looked to be lining up to play music or something. There was some Wrestling going on - the old type in a ring and lots of fake punching, it was hysterical but the crowd seemed to love it!

John Lennon in garden

Paul McCartney as well!

Mmmm
The so realistic wrestling going on - I was looking for Nana Tate, she loved watching this so believable activity!

A Penny Lane sign

An Octopus’ Garden - one could be forgiven for thinking we were in Beatles territory!

More street art

Side street off Penny Lane - thought the trees were amazing!

Penny Lane itself!

Then onto Strawberry Fields - forever! We didn’t go in to the area, bit expensive for what seemed to be a garden and a photo opportunity!

Step from John Lennox’s tree house! Wonder what a step from his real house looked like! πŸ₯΄

Crossed the Mersey, would like to say (or sing) ferry cross the Mersey but we didn’t so I can’t! Knew we were in Wales - no border signs- but the signs we saw! Would go to the places if we could understand them!

The Mersey - or what you could see of it! Tide very low!

Mountains on the way

Sign detailing attractions!

For you Dan - even though they lost this week!

Bridge over the Mersey

Finally in Y Felinheli and found our accommodation. Had to travel on some very little roads but well worth it. Great apartment with beautiful views! Off walking up Snowden tomorrow.

We are on the right with the door open, actually all of the bottom of the house, lovely apartment!
Playing cards and having a wee drink is on the balcony! Hard life but someone has to do it!

Sunset tonight - just beautiful!
