Day 38 Saturday May 17 - Happy birthday Nashie!

Leaving Sheffield today. Walked up to train station and caught the train to Skipton, with a quick stop over in Leeds. Graeme and Maureen met us at the station and walked us back to the motel where we are staying.

Skipton is such a pretty town. We got Thai takeaway from this little place. Fellow running it was turning 70 this year and his Thai wife was 42. His eldest child from a previous marriage was 52 and his youngest from his Thai wife was 6! It was the funniest experience, no matter what we ordered or how much, it cost all of us £22.50 each couple - cash!

Heading off on the canal boats tomorrow. This will be a real experience as there has hardly been any rainfall for so long, they’re closing the locks on Thursday due to low water levels. We have the boats from Sunday to Sunday so not sure how this works! If they close them, they won’t re-open til September!

The canal boats in Skipton - how beautiful does it look!
