Day 28 Wednesday May 7

Left Y Felinheli this morning, very reluctantly as we so enjoyed our stay here. Travelling to Swansea via Portmadog. Quaint little harbour. Saw one of the historic trains leaving the station. There was also a beautiful old church St John’s Church. It has closed down and they now do services out of a new church in town! Such a shame!

The old church

This is the new one, far more attractive!

A pub called The Australia! Couldn’t believe it when we saw it!

The train again

Then onto this place called either Artist Valley or Furnance- not sure! It had an old 18th century charcoal burning iron furnance. Between 1750 and 1800 ore was shipped here from Cumbria and cast into pig iron.

Then onto Cardigan where we tried looking for toilets, only public ones had been destroyed by vandals. Luckily a picture theatre let us in! It was a really pretty town. All of the towns along the mid Welsh coast are beautiful!

Arrived in Swansea after travelling through some very small lanes. We felt the sat Nav wasn’t taking us the right way so chose our own! Lesson learnt!
